Kyle Dillon Hertz is the author of The Lookback Window, a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice and one of the year’s best books according to Vanity Fair, People, CrimeReads, Debutiful, and elsewhere. The novel was longlisted for the VCU Cabel First Novel Prize. His work has appeared in Esquire, Interview Magazine, and Time, and has been supported by residencies at Yaddo and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. A graduate of NYU’s MFA program, where he was the Writer in the Schools Fellow, he now teaches fiction at The New School. The Lookback Window is being adapted into an indie film by the team behind Procession and Plainclothes, and Hertz is the screenwriter. The Lookback Window is also being adapted into a stage play by Making Our Space Theater. The play will be directed by Spencer Whale (Lempicka) and Dezi Tibbs (Oh, Mary!) and written by Hertz. The play will staged over the 26-27 season. He lives in Brooklyn with his husband.
